Professor Gail S. Goodman, the Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of Center for Public Policy Research is a professor at the University of California Davis. Her name is often credited for initiating the contemporary investigation of the scientific study of children's eyeswitness memory as well as child victims' witnesses in legal settings. Professor Goodman is a prolific author she has won many awards and grants. She has collaborated with numerous organisations and governments throughout the world in studies and policy issues pertaining to the child victimization of the justice system. She works as a Consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She has memberships with numerous professional groups, such as the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is also a participant in the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding member) International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. The American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division division, Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Family and Child the Practice and Policy.
